Job summary: Assist with ongoing editorial projects and provide administrative support to Product Development team members. Summary of essential job functions: • Assist Associate Editor and/or Senior Editor with reviewing backlist print materials to and from print production. • Assist Associate Editor and/or Senior Editor with expediting print materials to and from authors, reviewers, freelancers, printers, etc. • Assist Product Development team with checking editorial corrections or proofreading page proofs and printer proofs as needed. • Process and track copyright registrations, request ISBNs, create and maintain photo database (including photo research and collecting permission) for new and existing products. • Complete other administrative tasks including, but not limited to, photocopying, mailing, filing, responding to permission requests, creating contracts, ordering office supplies, and requisitioning samples from the warehouse and/or customer service. • Ongoing professional development—learning educational publishing and printing trades (industry jargon and methods, proofmarking, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.). • Other responsibilities and department projects as requested by manager. • Exercises care within work environment to prevent injuries.
