Education Disparity The average time spent on homework for an American student is 4-5 hours a week…the average for a Japanese student is 4-5 hours a day. The most controversial statistic had to do with ethnic differences when it came to grades. Asians are doing better than white kids, and white kids better than blacks and Latinos (“statistically” that is) Survey asked students what’s the lowest grade you can get without your parents getting angry. Asians an A-, for the white kids a B, and with blacks and Latinos around a B- or C+. So with that said stop spreading the idea that minorities shouldn’t go to college because it’s a waste of time. Especially if youre on your ass and doing bad your damn self. Yeah I feel that even though schools teach you what to think you should know how to think, and a degree doesn’t matter if you don’t have a plan or motivation. But don’t let anyone discourage you from furthering your education because they either feel too old to attend so they want to make you feel small, or because they can’t afford it. Its ok to be smart.
