Education Elevators is an opportunity for businesses to form a partnership with a school in their community and connect with students in K-3. In short sessions with students each week, you can make a great impact! Cathy, an Education Elevator who is a Human Resources Trainer with Jackson Kelly, used her computer skills to introduce her student to various computer software programs and 21st Century learning. In an effort to reinforce learning, Cathy paralleled her work activities with her student’s in-class assignments. For example, one week Cathy and her Elevatee created a slide show presentation to parallel her student’s weekly vocabulary assignment. Each slide consisted of a vocabulary word, a related clipart picture, and the word’s definition. Thus, the student not only learned valuable computer skills but also studied her weekly vocabulary assignment.
