Education: Teachers are key to making technology work "The quality of an education system can never exceed the quality of its teachers. The challenge of preparing tomorrow’s students begins today, with the acknowledgment that all teachers must be prepared to create, remix, connect, communicate, collaborate, learn and adapt to fulfill the promise of the digital 21st-century classroom." says Scott Bray, Director of instructional Technology & Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Richmond School of Professional & Continuing Studies. "The evolving nature of technology requires all teachers to become lifelong learners with the ability to change in order to design and deliver a curriculum that prepares students not only to survive but also thrive in the classroom and in a globalized world." Scott adds. "Great teachers not only can close existing achievement gaps but also can dramatically alter the path of a child. Therefore, the initial step in transforming our classrooms must begin with providing classroom teachers the appropriate training and support needed to create technology-infused learning experiences that engage students and promote the acquisition of 21st-century skills."
