Education Without the Habit of Saving is Incomplete As I drove down the old bumpy road in front my alma-mater on my way to honouring a meeting with an old friend, I saw children clad in beautiful light green uniform crowding the woman selling in a stall just outside the gate. In reminiscence I remembered how we did same thing more than three decades back. It is amazing how these children are responding to the same things we responded to many years ago. What we bought from mama as we fondly call the woman then, was not so much of the biscuits, wafers, cheese ball, etc, rather it was ‘baba dudu’(black man) a locally made black sweet with coconut flavour, we also had ‘eyin alangba’ (lizard egg) a lizard egg shaped sweet with a peanut as special delight inside. Many of us will spend all our money at the mama’s stall and end up trekking home .... continue tomorrow
