Education continues to be an area where local ICT companies can expand into, said the CEO of the Brunei Accenture Group (BAG) Networks, one of the country’s largest technology companies. “Education is one of those areas that continue to benefit from the advantage of using mature ICT environments,” BAG Networks CEO Haslina Taib said in the Oxford Business Group’s ((OBG) latest research and analysis publication of the country, The Report: Brunei Darussalam 2014. This includes building niche applications and distributing them through mobile devices such as smartphones. “Online learning and infotainment can supplement and enhance traditional educational methods and provide exciting prospects for local ICT companies to participate in,” she said. Haslina added that rural areas in particular can benefit from such investments. “The ICT Industry in Brunei is nascent as it serves a small and unique market,” she said.
