Edward Ezekiel see as every body like you! Na becaus of u everybody deh write all this long long comments for ur post lol! I will attack and defend you at the same time! Well its a good thing you have started asking questions and questioning the rationality and ways of God. See, you may discredit Christianity, Islam or any other religion but please do not discredit the existence of almighty God! I have been reading most of ur atheist writeups and wish to make some deduction/analysis from them. 1. You talked about; God not answering your prayers or prayers of some people, God allowing evil and injustice to reign and many more. What you failed to realise is that you have indirectly acknowledged the existence of God! Why do you keep writing or talking about something you say does not exist? 2. You have told us that science is every thing. And that science has explanation to every thing be it miracle or otherwise Now lets go back to natural things, do you know that science CANT stop the sun from shining, science have not been able to completely produce any living creature! (they may have swapped organs and tissues with already existing ones but never had sucess in reproducing any living thing independently) In Engineering we know that all things that are made or manufactured are done from basic elements like steel ceramics, wood and other hydrocarbons. We have never made any thing from things that were not already existing! Meaning that Science only modify or manipulate what is already existing to achieve its objectives. My point about science is that it still has its weakness/shortcomings and we all know it! So if you tell me that science has all the answers i chose to disagree with you on that! 3. Your recent write ups suggests that you are hurt and disapointed with the way the suppose God handles issues. In life we dont always get what we want hence the saying life is not a bed of roses There are natural phenomenon that will still occur no matter our prayers! I agree with you that there is a whole lot of injustice in the world and arguments have surfaced on who caused this injustice (is it God, devil or we humans that caused the injustice?) and again we wonder why a just and loving God wil fold his hands and alow evil to occur without stopping it (why not simple stop the evil from ocuring rather than waiting till they occur and then proceeding on issuing judgement/consequences) then we remember that he is a GOD OF FREE WILL that will not stop us from doing evil or doing good! Ok enough about the analysis Just like you, many atimes when things didnt go well as i planned or wished, i get angry with God, i asked questions and even become rebellious but when i get answers i stop complaining and i try to make good of the short and complex life we are all giving! You say God have condemned us with his numerous rules and commandment that almost every day we pray to God we always ask for mercy for our sins, hence feel guilty every day of our lives because we worship God and believe we have broken atleast one of Gods numerous commandments Well you may not be wrong but the little i can say about this is that; when we acknowlege our sins and asks for forgiveness its not because we have been condemned but rather its because we wish to be humble in the presence of God thats humility and its a virtue! Am not very religious and may have issues with all the known religion (christianity and islam inclusive) but yet it does not stop me from acknowledging God! I dont know what your theory/belief of creation is, but if its the theory of Big Bang why has the supposed Big Bang not happen again to create a new universe? I/We may have issues with the story about creation in most popular religious book. But one thing i know is this am/we are too perfect to be a product of coincidence! Same applies to the universe. If God didnt create us who did? Or if we evolved from smthing how did d thing came into existence? Though we may argue that the existence of natural disasters and evil perpetuated by humans discredits the assertion that the universe/humans and nature is really perfect. What i will say is these; for natural disasters there is cause and effect and for humans flaws there is freedom of choice same reason nobody can/should compel you to believe in God or folow a particular religion! Thats our choice to make. I do not hold brief for any religion but i do believe in the almighty God not the God of christian, muslims or what have you, but the loving God in which his strength and might supercedes any nationality or religion! The God that knows all the language and not restricted to mainly English, Latin or Arabic! The God that we are yet to fully understand his ways and how he reasons! Sorry this writeup was supposed to be a comment in one of your post but i realised it was a little bit lengthy and hence chosed to leave it in your wall!
