NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Tallinn artist Gudrun Heamägi in The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition Exhibition. 15% of Agora Gallery’s proceeds from the sale of artwork from the art competition exhibition will be donated to the Children’s Heart Foundation, an organization which supports children who have been diagnosed with congenital heart defects, as well as their families, and promotes awareness and research into this troubling disease. The exhibition is scheduled to run from August 16, 2013 through September 5, 2013. The opening reception will be held on Thursday night, August 22, 2013 from 6-8 pm. About the Artist Artist Gudrun Heamägi’s latest series “Hocus-Focus” loosely equates the artist to a type of magician, hocus-pocus referring to the work both do to induce an uncanny and magnificent change. Interested in stream of consciousness creation via the interconnecting of mediums such as printmaking, drawing and photography, Heamägi’s works allude to dream states and remembrances of times past. Gudrun Heamägi was born in Estonia, where she still currently lives and works in the city of Tallinn. She obtained a MA (2013) and BA (2011) in Graphic Art from Estonian Academy of Arts.
