Eight things people may not know about me. Like and I will give you a number! 1) When I remove a gift card from its cardboard backing, I cannot wait to peel off the adhesive strip and roll that stuff into a ball. Its maybe the coolest stuff ever.invented. 2) Although I love to cook (and am proficient), I have ZERO interest in making Thanksgiving dinner. Parnell is on notice that after our moms are gone, Thanksgiving will consist of driving to Ridglea and picking up dinner in a bag ($138 for 10 people if you add rolls; $160 if you add a Black Forest cake, which he will!). BTW, he thinks this is highly rational and has rubber-stamped my proposal. 3) I was a difficult child from birth: six weeks preemie, placenta previa, breech and sunny side up. Its a miracle that I am alive with only minor health issues. 4) I was a weird piano prodigy as a very young child. At age 3, I played Bachs Prelude in C by ear, and I proceeded to compete in regional and National Guild competitions until 13, when I finally confessed that I HATED the piano. I was good at it, but I had no interest in continuing - so I quit, and I havent touched a keyboard in 30 years. 5) I hate Superman and dont like chocolate. I only recently learned to like ice cream. I am frequently accused of being a Communist for this. 6) I hate girly stuff like The Notebook and Twilight, and my favorite store is Lowes. I really want to take a car repair class (a serious one, for certification and stuff), and I want a pet snake, but my spouse says no. I love to build things and get grimy. No, I am not smuggling a penis. 7) I thank God every day for giving me two boys - see #6 above - although I never actually expected a girl, because my husband, father and both grandfathers all came from four-boy families, and there hasnt been a female in the direct McGlinchey line since the 1890s. Boys are the frame of reference around here! 8) I had reconstructive belly button surgery in twelfth grade.
