Eighteen years. 18 years. I devoted my youthful years; years of creativity, productivity and untapped potential to being an Accountant in the public service. Never recognized or acknowledged. I have been a really good staff member and over the past few years, a tremendous supervisor. This afternoon, I was recognized and applauded by the King Global Humanitarian Foundation at its 2014 Salute to Greatness Awards Presentation and Banquet. There I was, among the overlooked, hard workers, the backbone and fabric of the public service. One of the youngest, but I felt proud. I was being recognized for my hard work as a Finance Officer. Thank you: Dr. Rudy Laroda-King and your committee, my family and inner circle for your love and support over the years, Minister L. Ryan Pinder for his confidence in my commitment to excellence, the senior managers at the Public Treasury for nominating me and to God be all the honour, glory and praise. Finally. 18 years. Almost time to move on. Thanks Kurt Carr for reminding me that this is just my beginning.
