Ekiti 2014: PDP Gov. Aspirants Agree On Consensus Candidate … Sign Undertaken Indication emerged in the early hours of today, that all the 14 governorship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State have agreed to accept a consensus candidate among themselves. This was part of the outcomes of the meeting held with the aspirants in the Abuja residence of Chief Bode George till the early hours of today. The meeting, which lasted till about 1am was attended by all the 14 governorship aspirants. A source disclosed that all the aspirants signed in agreement to the consensus arrangement. The source disclosed that former Governor Ayo Fayose, who came late to the meeting was the last to leave as the party leaders held consultations with him after other aspirants had left. “They all agreed that the committee should pick a consensus candidate among themselves and that they will support whoever that is picked. “From the look of things, final decision will be taken not later than Wednesday,” the source said. Apart from Chief Bode George, other PDP leaders, who were at the meeting included Chief of Staff to the President, Brig. Gen. Jones Oladeinde Arogbofa (rtd), Minister of State for FCT; Oloye Jumoke Akinjide, Senator Bode Olajumoke, Alhaji Yekini Adeojo, Prof Tunde Adeniran, Chief (Mrs) Aduke Maina, Chief (Mrs) Abiodun Olujimi, Senator Ayo Arise, Otunba Yinka Akerele, Chief Ropo Adesanya, Ekiti State Chairman of the party; Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe, Barrister Segun Ilori, among others.
