Elderly woman dies in hospital following collision - Oatley An elderly woman has died in hospital following a collision at Oatley last week. About 1pm on Friday 3 October 2014, police were called to the car park of a unit complex on Oatley Avenue after an 86-year-old woman was hit by a car. Police have been told the woman was reversing out of a parking spot when she stopped and asked a neighbour for assistance. While the woman was standing outside the car she was struck by the vehicle and knocked to the ground. She was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to St George Hospital. Yesterday morning (Thursday 9 October 2014), police were contacted by the hospital after the woman passed away. Officers from St George Local Area Command have spoken to the man about the collision and investigations into the matter are continuing. A report will also be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
