Elected officials are not perfect, they are far from perfect. We get what we vote for and often elect people we know nothing about regarding their level of competence abd commitment to the voters. Too few voters bother to vote and many elections are won by a fraction of the electorate. To counter this dismal record, more qualified people need to step up to the plate and run for elected office, and more voters to to do their civic duty and learn all they can about the candidates and vote for the best qualified. Tbink of of it as interviewing job applicants- because thats what elections are really all about. Youre the boss! Find the best candidates! Then support them, hold them accountable. Our country operates on a represebtative form of governnent. Perhaps you can run for office?
