Election observer dies manipurupdate/election-observer-dies MU NEWS/IMPHAL, April 12 : An election observer dies following a sudden stroke while travelling from Moreh, a border town in Chandel district in Manipur bordering Myanmar to Imphal on Saturday, according to Chief Electoral Officer s office in Imphal sources. The observer Chandra Bhanu Prasad, a 1993 Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer who hails from Lucknow, has been in the state since last month end to inspect the electioneering process as general observer along with Ashok Kumar Das (Police observer) for the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency which goes to poll on April 17. The state had witnessed more than 83 percent polling in the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency on April 9. The dead body of the observer which has been evacuated to JNIMS mortuary in Imphal on Saturday afternoon is likely to be flown to his native place on Sunday.
