Elections are often tough. As Ive become more involved, it becomes personal after getting to know so many (now) friends, coworkers who work for candidates or officeholders. Im a Republican & have been so since I was first eligible to vote, tonights results came as a shock- a lot of good people who I describe as statesman (I use the word rarely) lost. As a active participant in my party, I am concerned in the direction we are heading. It seem we are too interested in whos more uniquely qualified as conservative or has the backing of X groups. In these times, I ask my fellow Republicans, is placing decency over ideology not equally as important, is pragmatism not as valuable as purity? Having a rigorous debate on who we are only strengthens our party- we are after all the prodigy of Abe Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Ronald Reagan! Ask yourself what do you want the party to look like and then actively work to execute that vision! I promise you, together, we will change America (and this time for the better)!
