Elephant treated for seven poisoned arrow wounds On Saturday 19th April, our Keepers at the Ithumba Reintegration spotted a critically injured bull elephant with a swollen leg. Mobilising our Aerial Surveillance plane to quickly transport Dr Poghorn to arrive at the scene, everyone was shocked to find this young bull had been arrowed seven times, with each needing removing. For an animal to be so heartlessly targeted by man, all teams were overjoyed to see him courageously stand after his operation and defy death.
