Eleven years ago today I was 7 months pregnant & cute as ever! I felt a lil funny so I started my day just laying around taking it easy, my back hurt. Around noon I realized that my back was hurting rhythmatically...I was having contractions. I called the hospital but was reluctant to go in, Im not one to cause a fuss. After speaking w/Shannon Mulcahy I decided to at least get checked out, but first I needed to shower, shave my legs, & fix my hair. When I was finally all niced up I walked outside & man, it was a beautiful day! I even had the thought itd be a nice day for a birthday but then I quickly dismissed it saying Edie youre not having this baby today. I drove a less than awesome car at the time, I had to pop my hood, wiggle my battery cables, then start it, it was a stick shift too which was just so much fun dealing with considering my situation, & once at the hospital I had to pop the hood again & disconnect the cables to shut the car off. I wobbled in St Francis south at approximately 1:35 pm...at 4:54 pm I had an amazingly gorgeous 3 pound 12 ounce baby girl, she was 17 inches long with a head full of black hair & I mean it when I say she was gorgeous, not at all shriveled up & sickly looking like many premies are. We decided to name her Neviah Ragan & committed to loving her unconditionally. She spent the next 5 weeks in the NICU at Riley & there were a few very scary days but finally in September I was able to bring my little blessing home and look how beautiful she still is today! Thank you Lord. Happy 11th Birthday Sweet Neviah!!!
