Ellen, can you help us and vote for our puppy Stark? His is a finalist in the Weis Markets Penn State Pet of the Game Contest. weis.ly/1uuaFmD We are almost positive Stark has Muscular Dystrophy. He is the runt of the litter of Sadie, the dog my daughter Paige and her boyfriend Alex recused from the Humane Society back in May. They only had Sadie home about 5 days when they learned she was about to deliver puppies. Sadie had 7 puppies. The first one unfortunately died, breaking all our hearts, and Stark almost did as well...but they took him to the animal hospital where they taught them to give him fluids and bottle feed him. He was doing well, until about month 3, when we started to notice signs that something was not right. He is almost 6 months old now, and his condition is getting worse, but we are hopeful it will level off soon and we will know how to manage his condition. All of the other puppies found fur-ever homes with family and friends. Luckily none of the other puppies have any signs of the condition. We still have two more non-invasive tests to confirm his condition, but we will not put him through any biopsies as he may not survive the anesthesia. Anyway, we are currently in the lead, but the competition is stiff. We are hopeful you can help us and vote for him. You can vote once a day, and the contest ends Friday, November 21st at noon.
