Elliotts condition We have not made it public, but we need to - TopicsExpress

Elliotts condition We have not made it public, but we need to share some news that has hit us pretty hard. Elliotts old epilepsy has returned. Hes been free of medication and seizures for about 13 years. This is extremely disappointing news to us. For a couple weeks hes been on a medication, but it has not helped. Hes gotten worse in several ways, but hope its all related to seizures that are not controlled yet. We tried to find a trigger (like tea which caused his seizures years ago) or a natural solution, but weve been unsuccessful. Elliott will go through more testing and will slowly change to a different medication, but we can see that this is a very long process. In the meantime, hes not able to drive and his work has been greatly affected. Hes pretty discouraged since the problem is not under control and we dont know what its going to take to get it under control and Elliott is not able to contribute to the household like normal. Please pray for us during this hard time. Id love to see him get stable by the end of December when our baby is due. Josephs condition I went last week with Joseph to Washington DC for him to see a specialist concerning his Lyme Disease. The specialist has great hopes for him, but the road may be pretty difficult due to the complexity of the Lyme Disease, co-infections, and the die-off caused by several strong medications. Its said that Chronic Lyme is one of the most tricky germs to deal with since it morphs into different forms when attacked, hides, has penetrated deeply, and groups together to ward off treatment. Im very grateful to have a very experienced specialist directing our every move. Within 24 hours of Joseph taking his first medication, he was greatly affected with many of his old symptoms. It was hard to see him this way, but it confirmed even further that actuality of Lymes presence and how much IT has caused his problems. The next day his stomach was affected, but the specialist gave a suggestion which has solved the problem. Hes still off but not as bad as the first two days. I dont know how long it will take for him to regain his mental and physical strength, so were having to drop some activities and lower our expectations of him until we see improvement. We expect him to have great ups and downs through this. Julie and baby Praise God that the baby and I are doing well and holding up ok. I can tell that things will begin to stack up, due to Elliotts inability to handle things he normally does. My life has been full of taking Elliott, Joseph, and me to doctor appointments (9 appointments in 2 weeks!), research, and going on errands to obtain things to help Elliott and Joseph. Were not able to commit to anything in life, since both Elliott and Josephs conditions vary so much that at any moment they are not able to go or participate in something. We celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary yesterday. It was a pretty calm celebration, but it was nice to get out for a bit.
