Elphaba looked at the ground. No one had believed her truth before. “Why are you trying so hard?” she asked, her voice uncharacteristically soft. “Because I don’t want you to be lonely for the rest of your life. Even if you are green, everyone deserves to have someone who will be there, no matter what… and even though I never expected it, I am that person. Maybe it was forced at first, but now I really do care… and I want you to remember that.”
