Email from EEC -----Original Message----- From: Commissioners, Office (EEC) [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, September 13, 2013 3:55 PM Dear Early Education Provider/Colleague, Please join us at the first of a series of workshops on infant and toddler mental health, sponsored by EEC and the Department of Mental Health through the Race to The Top-Early Learning Challenge initiative. We all know how important it is to have an understanding of healthy social and emotional development. This workshop will focus on the key issues in infant and toddler mental health. We will look at healthy development, and the importance of relationships and of the emerging capacity for self-regulation, along with factors that contribute to risk and resiliency. Recommended audience: Staff from Comprehensive Family and Community Engagement Programs, Child Care Resource and Referral agencies, Early Childhood Mental Health Consultants, Educator and Provider Support grantees, and Mass 2-1-1, as well as EEC Licensors and other EEC staff. Early childhood educators are also welcome to attend. Please note that CEUs are not available for this workshop. A five-hour CEU-bearing training on infant and toddler mental health designed for early childhood educators will be offered in early 2014. The workshops are free to attend.
