Emergency Assessment Volunteer - Egypt Country Office مدفوع الاجر TEAM/PROGRAMME: Emergency program LOCATION: Egypt Child Safeguarding: Level 3 - the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people POST TYPE: National ROLE PURPOSE: Save the Children is undertaking one of the biggest socio-economic assessments of Syrian refugees across Egypt. The aim of the assessment is to help make sure the most vulnerable refugees get the help they need. We’re now seeking motivated and talented volunteers with excellent interpersonal skills to support this large task. SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: Field Officer Staff directly reporting to this post: 0 KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Project Implementation • Support case workers with home visits to help ensure information is accurately captured on our data collection devices. • Support Field Officer in their investigations for cases potentially in need of emergency assistance. • Support Field Officer with administrative tasks • Uphold the strictest of data protection and confidentiality. SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS (our Values in Practice) Accountability: • Holds self accountable for making decisions, managing resources efficiently, achieving and role modelling Save the Children Essential: • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills • Highly developed listening skills • Demonstrated ability to be a non-judgmental, confidential listener • Able to accurately document information/ eye for detail. • Excellent team-work abilities • No criminal record • Well organised with strong time-management abilities • Comfortable with intense work-loads / able to work under pressure • Fluency in Arabic • Able to start immediately • Commitment to Save the Children’s policies, values and Child Safeguarding Desirable: • Previous experience with administrative work • Previous experience working or volunteering with vulnerable groups. • Voluntary experience with case management or surveying/assessments. • Experience with Syrian refugees or marginalized communities • Previous experience working with an INGO • Fluency in English Date of issue: October 2014 .
