Emergency Warning Issued For: Club Terrace Fire Origin: 10 K NNW CLUB TERRACE Incident Name: CLUB TERRACE - GOOLENGOOK RIVE Issued: 17/01/14 3:35 PM This is an Emergency Warning issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Club Terrace and surrounding area. There is a fast moving, out of control bushfire travelling in a easterly direction towards Club Terrace. Spotfires and Ember Attacks are expected from nearby fires. Club Terrace and surrounding area could be impacted anytime within the next 1 hour to 2 hours. Leaving now is the safest option, before conditions become too dangerous. Emergency Services may not be able to help if you decide to stay. Travel to; - The Relief Centre at Cann River P-12 School, Tamboon Road - Orbost Relief Centre, Orbost Secondary School - The home of family or friends that is away from the warning area. When driving, slow down and turn on your headlights; smoke will make it difficult to see. The Princes Highway between Orbost and Cann River is closed. The next update is expected by 17/01/14 3:30 PM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: If you are unable to leave the area, take shelter indoors. If you cannot get indoors, other last resort options include: A large open area like a ploughed paddock, football oval or sporting reserve. A large body of water like a dam, lake, river, the ocean or inground pool. Try to protect yourself from the fires heat. If you are travelling, do not enter the area, U-turn to safety. If you are away from home, do not return. For life or property threatening emergencies call 000. If you need medical advice for burns or smoke exposure call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024.
