Then there were those who were born before 1949 – who were shuffled into the SAF as they happened to be in the Civil Service – and were the unfortunate older generation that were “forced” to provide leadership in the new SAF. It is simply scandalous that the New Citizens can be allowed to abscond from performing National Service due to loopholes that were conveniently left loose, as the priority of the PAP is not for the New Citizens to perform National Service but to contribute their ballot in support of the PAP in any General Elections. This is the ‘DUPLICITY and HYPOCRISY’ of the PAP and its Political LEEdership with their Population White Paper that continue to be implemented with more and more new arrivals given Citizenship every quarter. We hear PM LHL statement in GE 2011 that he will slow down the arrival of foreigners. Was he simply conveniently trying to win sympathy votes by shedding a few tears as he plead for a chance to review the Population Increase Policy ? He did renegade on his election statement by suddenly introducing the 6.9 Million Population White Paper at the end of 2012.
