Emily had a trip to the allergist in Greenwood. It was once again - TopicsExpress

Emily had a trip to the allergist in Greenwood. It was once again traumatic and very difficult during the procedure as Emily was in fight or flight mode, hit me and the nurse, even after much discussion trying to explain what we are doing I eventually had to hold her down screaming. The test results were excellent as it opened up 7 new food options possibly in the coming months and confirmed cat and dog allergy. It was a really hopefully conversation about Emilys future which was comforting. YEAH!!!! YEAH!!! YEAH!!!! Shout from the mountain for small victories. This is the first allergy test with two more types to come, food trialing, and later another biopsy. She is having a hard time understanding why she has to do the tests, mad at the process, mad at me for letting them hurt her and the disease. Tonight I showed her a video of a boy who has EoE who cant have any foods and some of those foods he cant even breath or they will send him to anaphylaxis shock. She was trying to process all of this and we again talked about it when we prayed before bed. With her sweet concerned voice, Mommy, can he go outside? Can he smell and see the butterflies dance? That would be sad if he couldnt? I couldnt bare to leave before she started snoring. We are very blessed with what Emily has added for the first time in her diet. We have had to learn to give thanks in all things, joy and sorrow. But, this is a hard disease for every family and it is emotionally, physically and financially exhausting. I have many friends going through some really hard diagnosis, symptoms, and burnt out. I am so thankful for their support and would be honored if you are reading this you would support all of us with a prayer tonight.
