Emily is a little more stable today. She had one major episode around lunch time but has otherwise been ok. She remains on the oscillator and its doing what it should to give her body a break and lower her co2 levels. Her blood pressure is running high so they will continue to monitor it but they do not want to administer any meds because they worry it could swing her so far down that her BP would be too low. Shes on a medicine called bumex to help her kidneys start working more efficiently so that she can try to pull all the fluid off of her and reduce the swelling. Her face is slightly less puffy than yesterday and her eyes can be opened enough to put medicine in which is an improvement . The surgeon also said that her abdomen looks ok considering all the trauma shes been through. So now we wait for Emily to call the shots...
