Emily is out of surgery and done fabulous. Her dr said she done great. They ended up taking 5 ribs. 1 above, 1 below and 3 in the middle. The section was about 6 inches long and 4-5 wide. She did have to take a small piece of her lung. The tumor had kinda grew into it. Dr could get her fingers between the tumor and lung but just wanted to make sure she didnt miss anything. Also looked around with a scope and said she saw nothing else. No nodules or anything. The tumor was more toward her back instead of under armpit area. Got her sewed up with the mesh. She is off breathing tube and already waking up. She has pain pump and several drain tubes. Going to PICU for tonight. If all goes well will go to regular room tomorrow. Be in here about a week depending on how well she does. Will get pathology report about midweek. There is a possibility she may not have to have radiation. Still will have to have chemo. Have to wait for report and what her oncology drs think. Anyway, her dr is very impressed on how well she did. Emily is just totally awesome. Waiting on a room now and then we will get to see her. Thank you all again from the bottom of our hearts for all the love, prayers, and support you have given us. You will never know how much we appreciate everything. God is so good.
