Emma Kearns I like your post. And as a local Bancroft Home Inspector, Citadel Home Inspections Id like to comment on the importance of the Home Inspection you spoke about. Often I see properties that are looking as one might expect an as is property would look like. Maybe a little messy or dirty. Maybe even a little cluttered with content. Ive seen ones that are being sold by family after the passing of a parent, or power of sale properties. But just because the house looks like it is in disrepair and dirty does not mean its falling over. The need for elbow grease, Pinesol and a few cans of paint are something easily over come. What a Home Inspection by a qualified Home Inspector like me will tell you, is if the structure, envelope and systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing etc.) are sound. Those are the big dollar concerns. People should always know what they are buying. A Home Inspection is the best way to know that.
