#EmmaWatson took to the #UN and gave an incredibly #empowering speech about #feminism and gender #inequality. She was there to launch the #HeForShe campaign that is a #solidarity movement for gender equality across the world. I feel lucky to be guided and constantly inspired by the values from my grandmother, mother, sister and proud to be raised in a household where we were all treated equal. In #Sikhism, as men are considered brave hearts and given the middle or last name Singh meaning Lion, in equality, the Sikh women are given the middle or last name Kaur meaning Princess giving them the inspiration that signifies their importance of being strong to defend or rule and being kind and graceful at the same time. IT IS TIME that we as men stand up and be counted to fight together - hand in hand for this. It is time, that we as men and women get ourselves and our community ready for the 21st century and put an end to gender inequality. We can together take on any and every problem of the world but we need to stop defining each other by what we are not, and start defining ourselves by who we are. Im with Emma on this - ‘If not me, who? If not now, when?’ Lets boldly and openly be right in the middle to join in this fight for equality for all of us. It is time and important for us to recognize and celebrate not only our heroes but also our she-roes!!! #WeAreInThisTogether
