I wanted you all to understand a little bit of what I’m going through right now- why I’m doing the postings and cries for help these past few months. Why I’m still reaching out. I’ve been getting the expensive treatments that I need (thanks to the generosity of so many) and I’m about half way through what is necessary for completion. And completion means no more infections, walking again, NO MORE SURGERIES. I’m not sure my spirit could bare another surgery- after 19 over the past 12 years the thought of starting from square one with rehab- no I couldn’t do it. I’m reminded of Robert Shaw’s incredible speech as Quint in “JAWS”. He talks about being aboard the Indianapolis when it was sunk and he spent days in the water at the mercy of the sharks. “We were spotted, and about 3 hrs later a big fat PBY comes in, starts to pick us up- that was when I was the most frightened, waiting for my turn. 1,100 men went into the water, 316 come out- sharks took the rest.” I think the reason he was so frightened was because after a long, horrid ordeal- he could see salvation, the end to the nightmare, the light at the end of the tunnel. And now, halfway through my treatments, I can see the end of the horror. I have hope. I can see the path to resume my life, my career, my reason for being on this planet. So, until I reach my goal and raise enough to complete my treatments I will continue to post scenes I’ve done, pleas for help, anything to get your attention. I hope you’ll forgive me. I have no choice.
