Employees from the Seagate Korea Design Center (SKDC) recently mentored high-school students from Suwon Information Science High School in a robotics workshop. The volunteers guided the students to build line tracers—small robots that use light sensors to follow a black track on a white background. Kurt Park, a senior staff engineer, was among 10 Seagate engineers at the workshop. Park discussed the basics of computer-aided design, and showed how CAD software is used in electrical design. After the lecture, the students build the line tracers at the school’s science lab, using assembly kits, circuit boards and soldering irons with the help of the Seagate volunteers.
