Joel Ashcraft [email protected] Qualifications: · A uniformed Salvationist, in good standing · Valid driver’s license or working toward one · Computer Skills – Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes · Commitment to evangelical Christian outreach · Commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army and Jesus Christ Responsibilities: · To assist Corps Officers with correspondence, phone calls, deposits, money counting, Sunday services program preparation, event planning, etc. · Identify community needs and design relevant ministry programs around those needs. · Conduct visitation to parents and families of Kids Club. · Reach out to the community to bring new families into the Corps · Develop, maintain, and lead programs and ministries to enhance the spiritual, physical, emotional health of all participants · Provide leadership for corps delegations at divisional and territorial events as assigned by the corps officer – including assisting in the promotion, registration, and transportation of these events. · Be available to chaperone for divisional events – such as Youth Councils, FET/SET, Star Search, etc. · Assist with all Seasonal Activities including Kettle work, angel tree, and distributions. · Plan, prepare, organize, coordinate and lead VBS · Involvement in total corps program · Be prepared to participate in Sunday Worship, teach/coordinate Sunday School, and assist in pickups as assigned by corps officer · Assist in the planning, promotion, and implementation of corps summer youth ministries including the recruitment of campers for Star Lake Camp, day camps, or other possible ministries. · Develop and maintain an intensive relational ministry with the youth congregation of the corps and the Kids Club program. · Assist with social ministries · Make connection with other local churches for possible partnership opportunities · Develop social media presence for the Brooklyn Bay Ridge Corps – through Facebook, Twitter, website, etc. · Develop and maintain an active recruitment and training program for youth leaders within the corps setting · Organize and implement open air ministries. · Please note that all said duties are essential to the position but other responsibilities and duties may be necessary to the overall enhancement of the mission of The Salvation Army as assigned by Corps Officers.
