Employment Opportunity: Position: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor Full-time, 8 am - 4 pm Responsibilities include supervision and coordination of activities of employees engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment. Knowledge and familiarity of post office regulations is key to this position. 1. Studies shipping notices, bill of ladings, invoices, orders and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates 2. Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to insure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments 3. Determine space requirements and position of shipment in truck and lay out position of shipment 4. Determine routing and legal load limits of truck according to established schedules and weight limit of states 5. Inspect loading operations to insure compliance with shipping specifica- tions and seals loaded truck door 6. Interprets specifications, job orders and assigns duties 7.
