Pay rate is - 28/hr Position: Sr. Field Service Technician/Trainer capable and knowledgeable to work along. Windows xp and 7 required, great communication skills for training, secret clearance, computer hardware skills required also once installation is done tech will be responsible for training. could be one to three days of on site end user training. Tech will be traveling to bases around the country and could be traveling solo at times. Description: This position will be based in our HQ located in Ashburn, VA. Responsibilities: • Install, modify and make repairs to systems and provide technical assistance and training to system end users • Inspects equipment and prepares equipment for delivery • Requires installation of computer hardware, telecommunications components and hardware and cabling, and software of this complexity • Perform RF surveys of sites where required • Installs peripheral components, such as modems, minor LAN components and cabling, monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives on users premises, following installation procedures • Load specific software packages, such as operating systems, hardware drivers and custom application software on computers • Coordinates with communication engineers to obtain required connectivity • Instructs user in use of equipment, software, policies, and manuals in accordance with established procedures. • Performs minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing a bad component • Answer user questions in person and via telephone concerning systems operation • Performs minor system hardware diagnostics and advises on system support software problems • Replaces defective or inadequate software packages • Verify and report site inventory status. • This position requires travel throughout the 50 U.S. states and some U.S. territories. Candidates can expect to be travelling approximately 75% of their work time and to report to the Ashburn, VA office when not travelling. Required Skills: • An active DoD Secret Clearance is required. Preference will be given to those applicants with an active Secret clearance. • Experience with installation and support of Windows operating systems with 3 years specialization • Experience with Windows XP and Windows 7 • Must have experience providing user assistance with hardware and system support software problems • Strong verbal and written communications skills are required to provide user training. Experience with Microsoft Power Point slide presentations preferred. • A+ and MSCP certifications preferred • This position will require nationwide travel approximately 75% of the time • A valid driver’s license is required for this position • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis is required • In accordance with our travel reimbursement policy, employees must pay for travel expenses in advance which will be timely reimbursed.
