Employment in regional Victoria has remained the strongest of all the states, according to Australian Bureau of Statistics figures, Treasurer Michael O’Brien said last week. In the three months to February, employment in regional Victoria increased by 2800. Over the year regional Victoria created 31,200 extra jobs. 48,700 regional jobs were created across Australia in the year to March and more than 60 per cent of those jobs are located in regional Victoria, Mr O’Brien said.
