Emunah Toback is hoping a newly passed piece of state legislation allowing medical marijuana use will help her son Rafi live a better life. Rafi suffers from a severe form of epilepsy known as Ohtahara syndrome. The disease is genetic, and Rafi was diagnosed when he was only two years old. Toback says Rafi sleeps for much of the day because his seizure medications make him tired. NY1’s Shannan Ferry filed a report.
