Encounter in outskirts of Srinagar, 3 cops injured A top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, who could be the dreaded Abu Huraira, is believed to be trapped inside a house on the outskirts of Srinagar, the Jammu and Kashmir police said on Wednesday. The police and the CRPF mounted a joint operation to nab the militant, suspected to be a Pakistani national, from the house in Ahmadnagar locality. The police said three of their men were injured in the operation after the militant lobbed grenades at them. "We had information that a Pakistani militant was hiding in a residential area. As we cordoned the house, the militant started throwing grenades," said AG Mir, inspector general of police (Kashmir Range). >While police are officially confirming presence of one militant, sources said there could be more holed up inside the house.
