End of day 9! This past week was extraordinary. Last night was the State of the State, Gov. Nixons yearly address. This morning was the State of the Judiciary, given by Chief Justice Mary Russell. It was a priviledge to be on the House floor for both of these addresses. I have been assigned to committees: small business, fiscal review, rules and agriculture policy. I had two committee meetings this week and if you would like to know about dairy farmers in MO call me, I now know quite a bit. I love history and have challenged several interns with coming up with how MO Senator Atchison was President for a day on March 4, 1849. A great piece of MO history. My LA (legislative assistant) Beth Walker is awesome and I am thrilled to have her on our team. We are working on a newsletter, setting up some in- district office hours and getting some proclamations ready for the Kirkwood Area Chamber of Commerce installation dinner in two weeks for honorees. Please schedule a day to come visit with me at the Capitol, we have a beautiful building with a wealth of history. I look forward to seeing you.
