Endorsement of the Name and the Date of Birth of the spouse in the PPOs:- The AFA has come across quite a few cases where the name of the wife/spouse & the DOB is not quoted in the PPOs. This happens in the cases of those pensioners who have retired earlier than 1986, where this details was never included in the PPOs. It can also happen in the cases of those pensioners who were unmarried/single at the time of their retirement/release from the IAF, and have married/changed their marital status post retirement. Such non-availability of details in the PPO can affect the receipt of the family pensions at a later stage. Please check your PPOs and ensure that your own PPO is uptodate with these details. If not, then please write to and request for the forms or further action in your individual case. A Corrigendum PPO needs to be issued in all such cases.Delay in completing these formalities can be detrimental to your familys interest. Please write to the AFA for any further help giving complete details of your own case.
