Enenche Comedian wrote; JUST AN ADVICE. It pains me each time I see young talented fellow strive for Media at the expense of labouring to make their gifts and talents better and they think that it is a destination. Media is good, but proportionate media is better and healthy. Invest in your gifts and talents, in due season media would look for you, it is more honourable that way. Never mistake media for Grace. They both have their place. But it is much more profitable for Grace to announce you than media alone does the announcement. I have seen media make people and have seen it destroy people faster than it made them. Avoid excessive media while you are still in a process. These days, we see a musician with 2 songs and the next point of call is a Media House. We tend to mistake media hype for impact. Media is good, it has its glorious place, but it can mare as fast as it can make. When I entered Abuja, I developed a strategy; to avoid media and invest greatly in underground impacts. That is the easiest way to develop and introduce an infant brand to a new city. The people you encounter with one on one would be you media agent and that has a more convincing effects... media time would come, it is a process! If I decide to go into full blown proportionate media, I have people who I have in one way or the other impacted physically, they would be the ones to give give my media a multiplier effects. A young Abuja based comedian walked to me and said; I envy you, I dont see you in any of the Big Media houses in Abuja, yet every time your name echo from high profile events that some of us find difficult get. I smiled, he confessed to me that he had never earned 50,000 naira as a comedian but yet he is always on air in a Radio FM and a TV station weekly for a TV show. I told him it is not by media but by grace. If he is lead and he knows that the media is his purpose for now, let him stay there, but if he ask himself and he realises that he is there out of peer pressure, let him isolate himself to cultivate Grace. With Grace you dont need media, Media needs you! I received a call yesterday to come and handle a segment of a show in one of African leading TV stations. I couldnt make it because I had a tight schedule yesterday. Today they still called, I smiled, because this is what people line-up in audition for... the power of Grace. Another deception or let me put it this way; a truth that is fast being taken extreme by Gifts and Talents these days, is the issue of packaging. Packaging is good, I love looking good, it is a core value for any gift or talent to blossom. But these days we see people striving for packaging at the expense of content. I like packaging, but I respect content. Do you know why talents fizzle out of relevance quickly these days no matter the media hype? One answer; lack of content. Strive for contents, you can never grow beyond your content. Content is a life long investments... packaging can be done over night but content can never be. Invest in contents, strive to be different, if truly you must stand out. Greatness is a process, dont jump any step! MAY GOD FLOURISH THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS! ENENCHE ENENCHE (Comedian)
