(English follows the Spanish) Un domingo más nos reunimos en torno al altar del Señor para compartir su Pan de Vida, que nos ayuda a recuperar las fuerzas que precisamos para peregrinar. Las vacaciones, el encuentro con la familia y los amigos está llegando a su fin; cada uno vuelve a su realidad, contentos y seguros de haber compartido lo que somos y tenemos con otras personas, en otros lugares y ambientes. Este domingo, en el texto evangélico, Jesús muestra cómo debe usar el cristiano el dinero y los demás bienes materiales. Y el mensaje fundamental es que nadie puede servir a dos señores: o se acoge el amor y la misericordia de Dios y uno se convierte en siervo de ese amor, que es lo mismo que libre de toda atadura que condiciona y ata; o se deja uno atrapar por el egoísmo que esclaviza. En este marco, iniciamos la celebración de este domingo. Únase a nosotros para la Misa a las 12:45 pm. Y por favor recuerde que el coro ensaya después de la Misa One more Sunday we gather around the altar of the Lord to share the Bread of Life, that which gives us the strength we need for our journey. Vacations, meeting family and friends, traveling - all are coming to an end, and each of us returns to the Fall reality, having had time to share with family and friends, to experience new things and find time for refreshment and renewal. In Sunday’s Gospel text, Jesus shows how the Christian should use money and other material goods. And the message is that no one can serve two masters: either one receives the love and mercy of God and becomes a servant of this love, which frees from all bonds and conditions that bind us, or one is left to live in the selfishness and self-centeredness that enslaves. With this text we will join together on Sunday to hear God’s Word and receive the Holy Sacrament. Please join us at 12:45 pm for the Mass. And please remember that the choir will rehearse at 1:45pm.
