English proficiency helps take Café Britt’s operations from - TopicsExpress

English proficiency helps take Café Britt’s operations from local to global. The number of local organizations looking to expand business outside country borders is exponentially rising. For successful global expansion, companies must be equipped with global communication skills. For Café Britt, a gourmet coffee producer in Costa Rica, making English proficiency a workforce priority has helped expand sales and operations to North America, South America and beyond. Café Britt first opened its doors in 1985 as a local coffee roaster. To expand its product offering into hotels and companies internationally, Café Britt representatives needed to be able to fluidly communicate with and gain the trust of prospective clients. By making English a priority, employees are able to travel, teach and train baristas to replicate operations worldwide. This has helped to expand Café Britt’s distribution, retail and online sales around the world. For Café Britt, making English proficiency a priority has not only resulted in global growth, it also helps ensure that the quality of each cup of Café Britt coffee remains the same, no matter where it is brewed. English opens the door to global expansion for Café Britt: English allows employees to fluidly communicate with clients and retail customers. Training local workforces in English helps ensure a consistent product experience. English can be used as a tool for retail operations to build customer satisfaction.
