Ye arna in me body. Dinna e’en try ta tell me how I feel or wha’ I want. Ye, for once, have na idea.” She heaved herself over the side of the horse trying to get away from him. “Now, let me doon, or let me fall.” She dangled precariously over off the side of the horse. Gard’s arms were the only thing holding her from perhaps being trampled by the big beast. Viciously, he clamped down on her arms and heaved her back up in front of him. Her backside thumped up and down on the horse, as Gard’s hands held her by the shoulders. “I told you, you would endure with me this day and so you will.” He kept his left hand clamped down over her shoulder as his right palm covered her breast, he kneaded it, right in front of all his men and when her nipple hardened at his attentions, he plucked at it with his fingers. Closing her eyes, Brae tried to leave her body and not feel anything but pure cold hatred for this man. It did not work. Heat pooled between her thighs. Slowly, his hand moved down her ribs, over her stomach before cupping her roughly through her skirt. To her horror her body responded at his rough touch and she moved against his hand involuntarily. He chuckled harshly in her ear; she felt it rumble through his chest, pressed tightly to her back. “I hate you,” she sobbed. “Ye have evra righ’,” he agreed, letting her go. He took the reins, making sure to keep his arms within distance of rubbing up against her breasts at strange intervals. If he was not touching her in some way, he was verbally assaulting her with words of sensual pleasure he would only deny her. Deny them both. After an excruciating amount of time, her body cooled and his diatribe ceased. It gave her some satisfaction to feel that he was still enormously affected. “I told you, you could not toy with me and win,” he grumbled in her ear. She pushed her backside cruelly into his erection. “I told ya I wasna playin’ a game and clearly neither one o’ us be winnin’.” Growling loudly like a beast, he paused the horse with a powerful squeeze of his knees and all but threw her to the ground. She landed hard on her backside. He looked down at her, his black eyes glittering. “I hate you too. The devil take you!” He cursed her before kicking the horse into a gallop, leaving her in a cloud of dust. “The devil did take me ye heartless bastard!” she screamed at his retreating back. Under her breath, she strung together an impressive bunch of obscenities as she attempted to gain her feet. What on earth did he have to hate her for, she wondered as Llachlan came to her rescue yet again, helping her to her feet. “Be ye a’right, Brae?” She nodded as the dreaded tears began again. Llach put his arm around her shoulders as Bronwyn looked on from atop his horse. “Wha’ did ye do ta anger him this time?” “The verra breath I take angers him.” “Then why does he no’ let ye go?” Bronwyn asked callously. “Bron!” Llach chastised her. “Well, it jus’ doesna make sense. If he be done wit’ her why does he keep draggin’ her aroond.” “Obviously, he be no’ done wit’ her then, aye?” Llach defended. He yanked Bronwyn from his steed. “Ye can walk as weel.” “Hhmmppff.” She huffed, falling into step with Brae. Brae’s ankle hurt slightly from the fall. “Why is it he keeps ye aroond? He doesna seem ta like ye verra much.” “Mayhap it be no’ me company he wishes ta keep,” Brae retaliated snidely. “He enjoys me jus’ fine when I be flat on me back and me mouth be closed.” “Mayhap ye should use yor mouth fer better things and keep him in a better mood,” she said as she picked up the pace, leaving Brae behind, limping slightly and wondering what she might use her mouth on. She shook her head and wondered at Bronny’s own mood. Had the whole camp gone mad?
