Enjoyed the first 30 minutes or so of HALLOWEEN with my three kids the other day (9, 14, 16). They were pretty enthralled, but we had to bail for something. Its been years since Id seen it and I absolutely cant believe how awful Carpenters music is. The famous track is terrific (and classic) in small doses, but the repetitive synth-y cues throughout grew tiresome after about 10 minutes. Then they got funny. Im not a music guy at all, but do (relatively) serious music fans actually think Carpenter is a good composer?
