Enjoying the ping-gong game between President Goodluck Jonathan and the core North. For now, Jonathan is leading 5 : 0! Why? The North is more divided today than at any other time in recent Nigerian history. The genie of ethnic and religious differences buried for long under a false sense of Northern Identity has been released with devastating consequences thatll take years to build. So, even if an Akpabio persistently took the stage to become the main MC in a gathering that is supposed to be a mainly Northern one, that strategic mistake is still excusable because Northern is now Muslims, Christians, Fulanis, Hausas (not Hausa-Fulani), Katafs, Kanuris, etc. If the killings continue on the scale it has assumed today from Benue through Taraba to Maiduguri, Bauchi and Kaduna, it is certain that the notion of One North is gone forever. It is everybody for him/herself. And a Southern president, who can protect us will be the unspoken refrain of those with religious or other affinities with the incumbent president. Till date, one is yet to see, read or perceive a credible response from any Northern presidential aspirant. Maybe they know something we dont know. Meanwhile, the game continues ...
