Enough, back, limit Lab meat is just the latest example of our failure to adapt to our increasingly unreasonable and unrealistic demands upon the resources of mother earth. We are the greatest engineering species that has have existed on this planet, but it appears to me that we are not yet capable emotionally and intellectually in large numbers of resolving complex problems by some means other than engineering. The breathtaking speed in which we engineer solutions far outpaces the operating system of the rest of life on this planet. As a result of that outpacing we are creating more problems with ever growing complexity than we solve. It’s a complete non-starter to suggest that people use less but I think Dr. Vaclav Smil sums it up correctly in this snippet taken from the documentary Surviving Progress.
