Enough to Use, None to Waste Martinez to Host Free Workshop Water Conservation 102: Greywater & Rain Barrel Systems Saturday, August 9, 2014, 10 a.m. to Noon Martinez City Hall, 525 Henrietta Street The great California drought is here. In response to our serious water shortage, the City of Martinez and the Contra Costa Water District are asking residents to cut water usage by 15 percent. Now is the time for you to take action and practice water conservation. To help you do your best at saving water, the City of Martinez is hosting its second free workshop in a special water conservation series called Water Conservation 102: Greywater & Rain Barrel Systems. This workshop will provide attendees an overview of greywater systems that divert discharge water from your clothes washer, as well as an overview of rain barrel water catchment systems. Knowledge is power. Take the information and ideas presented in this workshop to your home and divert water that would typically go down the drain or gutter and use it in your yard to maximize the use of our precious water. The workshop will be instructed by Todd Sutton, aka the Waste Sleuth, principle consultant of WasteSleuth and a sustainability expert with more than 23 years in the recycling and conservation field. The Water Conservation 102 class is free but registration is required (and space is limited). Please register today via email: [email protected] (preferred) or call (925) 372-3531.
