Enter soap box. Enter me getting on to the soap box. Tonights topic: judgement. Every where I have turned the past week I see people judging other people. It is SO counterproductive. What gives ANYONE the right to judge another? What would be possible if, instead of judging others, each of us focused on ourselves? Truly becoming the best person we can be...stepping into our passion, our purpose, our Call. Judgement knocks people down. We should be building people up. Judgement comes from insecurity, ignorance, lack of respect and lack of self-worth. The next time we find ourselves making a judgement statement, what would it look like to get curious and ask a curiosity question? Instead of being insecure, what would it take to be secure? Instead of being ignorant, what would being educated look like? What do respect and self-worth look like to you? I am not the smartest person in the world nor am I perfect (I am filled with enough flaws to fill a landfill). What I do know is that the people CAN change-one step at a time. Becoming aware of what holds us back is one step. I believe that judgement holds people back from their fullest potential. I have been taking a cold hard look in the mirror this week at how judgement has played into my life-the impact it has created. I have been identifying how I want to shift in this arena. I want to encourage you to do the same. Get curious-curious about yourself and curious about others? We ALL want to be accepted and loved. Being judged DOES NOT get us to that place. It fills us with guilt and shame and all sorts of negative energy things. I want to live in a productive world where people have respect for one another and see each others brilliance and gifts in the world. I would love to hear your feedback on this. Ok-I am now leaving my soap box. Thank you for listening.
