Entrepreneurial/leadership tips for growth Entrepreneurship is about risk management. We must understand how to prioritize. You cannot be an entrepreneur without being innovative. Your brain must be alive. You must read and must have all kinds of knowledge; formal and informal knowledge. You must be a risk-taker. You must venture, because nothing ventured, nothing gained. The successful entrepreneurs are those who venture into a new line of enterprise; make money from it before others come in to that business. Entrepreneurs should be aware of trends because the world around is changing. If you want to be a good entrepreneur you must be able to listen and be humble. Humility is one of the biggest attributes of leadership and entrepreneurship. Success must never get into your head. Again, build your business around your gifts and passion. I am doing what I’m doing because I found out that I’m gifted in it. When you copy someone else, trust me, you wouldn’t be very passionate about that which you are doing. Passion is the oomph that keeps you going when the business is going through turbulent times. Have a clear vision of your brand, and don’t be swayed easily by criticisms. You must be ahead of the pack. You must strive to always have something different to offer your client. Always look out for stakeholders and employees because they are important to your business. Take them on; engage them and reach out to them to motivate them to give you their best. Don’t jump the ropes, take time and monitor your growth, and make sure your revenue must run ahead of your cost, especially in this country where there some unforeseen costs always crop up. As an entrepreneur, you are a leader and as a leader, you must have a goal. A leader maximizes the efforts of people and, therefore, a true leader is not the one that does things himself; he succeeds by getting the best out of people. The biggest challenge we face in leadership is getting the best out of people; making ordinary people do extra ordinary things. And you achieve that through high employee engagement.
