Enzo came all the way from Turkey with his family and sadly had to spend 7 weeks in quarantine due to a glitch with his pet passport. This experience has been quite stressful for him so when he was introduced to Cody (a typical bouncy, vocal, husky pup) it didnt go too well. Happily they are now on track and learning to relax around each other 😊 We used the baby gate to prevent any mishaps and started off desensitising Enzo to the pups fast movements and howly noises. Then we worked on teaching the puppy to relax in Enzos presence and we are training Enzo that good things only happen when the puppy is around. When introducing a new dog to your home its important to manage flashpoints like food, water bowls, toys and attention. This is another part of the management for Enzo. There is still some more work and some longer term management to do, but his owners have been implementing all my advice and have progressed to having them offlead and very relaxed in the room together, in just a few days! They are also enjoying parallel walks together. Well done boys 👏
